Do I need an appointment?

You can order over the phone, via website or via email, but placing your order in person is always best when possible. Tastings are available for weddings and large orders of 100 servings or more. Tastings are $60 per couple or per two guests. Each additional guest will be a fee of $20 (which will NOT be credited to your account). Should you choose to book with me, the tasting fee of $60 is credited to your account. To schedule a consultation and place your deposit email me at cakesbyclementine@outlook.com once you've chosen the four flavor you'd like to sample, and I will reserve your appointment. Consults days & times varies.

 

Do you Deliver to Venues/Events?

Delivery is available upon request. Delivery fee are based on venue/event location. Delivery fees start between $50-$75 depending on the size/complexity of the cake/order & location. Deliveries over 10 miles from zip code 28262 will be charged an additional $1.75/mile round trip. In town delivery fee start at $10.00 (first 3 miles) then plus .75 per additional mile round trip.

Do you make custom cakes?

Yes. Every cake I make is custom made to order from start to finish

Do you ship your cakes?

Yes, I ship certain items. Orders to be delivered outside the Charlotte area will be delivered by FedEx and charged to order before shipment. (Shipping cost varies on location)

How and when do I pay for my order(s)?

A 50% non-refundable and non-transferable deposit will reserve your event date on the calendar. When invoice is sent you have 24 hours to pay your deposit by 5 pm the next business day or you will be charged a $25.00 inconvenience fee to rebook. Your order will be canceled if deposit is not paid by 5pm.

 

Celebration cakes (birthdays, showers, anniversaries, etc.) must be paid in full one week before your event date. Rush orders must be paid in full at booking. Wedding cakes must be paid in full 30 days before delivery date. For regular cake orders the remaining balance is due at pick up in cash.

How much do you charge for additional layers?

Price is determined by the nature of your design

 

How much do you charge?

Each order is custom designed, so there is no set price. Each cake is individually quoted, and you will receive a quote based on how many people you would like to serve and design detail. My prices are very reasonable, and you will not be disappointed.

All other treats such as cake truffles, chocolate-covered Oreo's, and chocolate-dipped pretzel rods are priced according to design and ordered by the dozen.

Do Cakes by Clementine charge inconvenience fee or any additional fees that are not listed?

Yes, inconvenience fees start at $50+ (failing to pick up order on the date & time agreed upon) & storage fee starts at $35+ per day (after 12am is consider the next day)

 

Is there a minimum order for cupcakes & cake pops?

Yes, a two-dozen minimum per order

What if my cake is damaged?

Once your cake is picked up, it is considered accepted. (Meaning you are completely satisfied with your order once you pay your remaining balance) If you choose to pick up and set up your cake/order, you assume all liability and responsibility for the cake/order once it leaves my possession. You MUST transport your order in a safe manner and on a level surface or your order can become damage. Please DO NOT contact me asking for a refund if your chose to pick up your order and it becomes damage in the process of you getting to your destination. Please store cake in a cold place until you are about to cut it. The cake/items will start to melt if it is out in the heat.

How much notice do you require?

Each and every order is designed, baked and decorated by me. Due to this, I can only accept so many orders. A general rule of thumb would be three to four weeks' notice. For busy months, such as May- July and October- December, you should book two to four months in advance if possible.

What if I change my date?

Date transfers are at the discretion of Cakes by Clementine. A minimum $25 transfer fee will be required to reserve a new date and would be based off of availability.

What type of payments do you accept?

Cash, Cash App, & PayPal, (convenience fee 4% when using PayPal & cash App convenience fee is 5%)

What is the recommended serving size?

Standing serving sizes are recommended at 1 inch wide by 2 inches deep.

Will Cakes by Clementine issue a refund?

Yes, if it is Cakes by Clementine fault to why the refund is needed. Please allow 5-7 business days for the refund.

 

Will Cakes by Clementine work with my florist to garnish the cakes?

Yes

What if we have to cancel?

Things happen. I understand. But since I take a limited number of orders per week, dates sell out quickly and I turn business away based on bookings. So cancellation at any time, will result in forfeiture of initial deposit and any prepayments. 

​

Do you charge extra for deliveries?

Yes, depending on the zip code 28217; Mileage is based off google map (roundtrip).

Do you charge a late fee?

Yes, please pick up on time & arrive at the time we agreed to meet. Late fee is additional $15.00 per 30 minutes that you are late & due before picking up through cash.

Do Cakes by Clementine charge taxes?

Yes, according to North Carolina the percentage in food taxes is 4.5%.

How long does Cakes by Clementine hold orders once they are complete past the due date?

Products are only held for two days before they will be thrown out & will acquire an additional fee during the two days holding period. (Please see above for additional fee's)

 

Do Cakes by Clementine do rush orders (last minute orders)?

Yes, a $50.00+ rush order will be attached on top of the fee for the product(s); FIVE days or less are considered rush orders. Must be paid in full at booking.

Why are my price so high?

What is factor into the price is my time, all the ingredients, & etc. Keep in mind the more that is done to a cake the more that is will cost. Each added thing will cost more money. Once an invoice is sent the order is considered FINAL, any changes will be additional fee of $25.00 plus the add on fee for the change to the order.
